My first attempt at a running and training blog was over three years ago ~ it failed! I didn't know what information about myself and my training I wanted to share with others, and part of me didn't want to share anything at all. At that time in my life, I had doubted myself and wasn't sure I had anything important to share, let alone think that anything I had to say would impact the lives of others. There were, and still are, many blogs about running. I thought about things about me that people might be interested in: I am a runner, triathlete, mother, researcher; I have a background in philosophy, politics and physical education; I've raced, I've won, I've lost, I've quit, and I've started over. We all have great stories and experiences, learned lessons, made mistakes and had disappointments. I am not unique, and that is the point, we all have something in common to share. Running has meaning for me in my life, and it has meaning to others, mostly, running is a fulfilling experience. Though technology allows us to share in these experiences with others, I wondered what was the purpose of my sharing. My hope is to talk about the things themselves that constitute our experiences as runners, the human beingness of training by including training stories about the science of training and philosophical practice of running: ENJOY!
